About Us: 
Peak Environmental is a green industry company the specializes in comprehensive landscape construction and management services for commercial and residential clients. Our 3 main service areas include: Outdoor Living Spaces, Landscape Development, and Landscape Management.

We focus on high end commercial and residential multifamily properties and believe that every property we manage should be approached from a golf of turfgrass perspective.

The Position: 
We are looking for a driven Grounds Superintendent to lead a crew of 3-5 for our maintenance clients. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to lead, diagnose, and implement programs to improve the outcomes on every property we manage.

As a Peak Superintendent, you will be responsible for working with the team to design and prescribe solutions to sales and the client to improve their site.  This is a production based position where you will be expected to work alongside while directing your crew.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of selection, use, & maintenance of landscape products, tools, and equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of turfgrass, plant maintenance, and cultural habits to drive healthy landscapes.
  • NYS Pesticide License  
  • Work independently of senior management with demonstrated ownership of crew performance and outcomes.
  • Manage aspects of each job; coordination of materials, people, & equipment.
  • Truck and equipment operation.
  • Snow & Ice management during winter months. 
  • Dedication to team building and continuous improvement through, training, policy adherence and enforcement.
  • Clean Drivers Licence is a must.

Horticulture, Golf and  Sports Turf Management


Job Description:
SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward thinking and engaging faculty member to join the the School of Veterinary & Applied Sciences program area of Horticulture and Golf and Sports Turf Management starting Fall 2017. We offer several related degrees at the Associate and Baccalaureate levels within the Applied Science program.  These include Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) options in Horticulture, Golf and Sports Turf Management, and Landscape Design & Management.  A Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is offered in Golf and Sports Turf Management.  

The State University of New York (SUNY) Delhi operates an 18-hole golf course, The College Golf Course at Delhi.   Located on the lower campus, the golf course is adjacent to the programs Turf Education Center and lower campus greenhouses. Each of these facilities serves as an educational center and learning lab for the Applied Science academic programs.

The incumbent will be the lead instructor for a variety of courses with specific emphasis on:
  • Grounds equipment maintenance
  • Sharpening reels
  • Hydraulics
  • Electronics
  • Fleet management

Requirements:
Program Development:
  • Participate in annual systematic assessment of program
  • Participates in analyzing data and makes recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary
  • Collaborate with industry and community partners
  • Program recruitment
Teaching Responsibilities:
  • Integrate industry and community partnership initiatives into teaching practices
  • Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College
  • Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students
  • Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes
  • Incorporate student service learning opportunities
Advisement:
  • Assist in advisement of students
  • Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
  • Track student's completion of progression requirements
Academic & Organization Commitment:
  • Serve on campus committees
  • Participate in faculty meetings
  • Participate in accreditation reviews and reports
  • Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college
  • Pursue scholarly interests
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanic Repair, Horticulture, Turf Management, or other closely related discipline
  • At least two years of professional teaching experience
  • At least three years of professional experience in related field
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record by time of appointment 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in closely related discipline
  • Experience teaching above-mentioned courses at the college level
  • Ability to engage in scholarly activities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations
  • Understanding the value of civic engagement

Additional Information:
  • Salary $50,000 - $52,000
  • This is a 10 month academic year, tenure track year position

Branch Supervisor 


 

Turf & Soil Diagnostics, the leading soil physical testing laboratory serving the landscape, sports field and golf industries is seeking a full-time supervisor / consultant for our Trumansburg, NY location. Requirements include previous supervisory experience, familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word, and either lab experience or a soil science background.

Job responsibilities include administration and efficient daily operation of the branch, personnel supervision and scheduling, report preparation, client consulting, customer service, administrative duties, and lab work as needed (no chemical testing). Position reports to senior management. Other responsibilities will depend on experience/capabilities.

We provide a unique service and we'll provide training for the right person. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be excited to learn and share.
