Irrigation Designer

?Grassland Equipment & Irrigation Corp.

Grassland Equipment & Irrigation Corp. has an immediate opening for an Irrigation Designer.

The ideal candidate should have experience in irrigation system, products, applications and design.?Experience with AutoCad or other irrigation design software a plus. We will consider a candidate?
with good AutoCad experience that is willing to learn irrigation design.

Responsibilities include; design work, estimating and bidding projects, and working with consultants and contractors.?

Depending on the workload, this position often assists with handing customers at our counter and on the phone, and some warehouse duties.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

This is a full time year round position. Overtime and some Saturday hours are required in season.?

FACULTY: GOLF TURF AND HORTICULTURE SCIENCES

Job?Description:
SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward thinking and engaging faculty member to join the School of Veterinary & Applied Sciences program area of Horticulture and Golf and Sports Turf Management, starting Fall 2018. The College?offers several related degrees at the Associate and Baccalaureate levels within the Applied Science program.?These include Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) options in Horticulture (with two tracks of Horticulture or Landscape Design and Management), and Golf and Sports Turf Management. A Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is offered in Golf and Sports Turf Management.?

The State University of New York (SUNY) Delhi operates an 18-hole golf course, The College Golf Course at Delhi.?Located on the lower campus, the golf course is adjacent to the programs Turf Education Center and lower campus greenhouses. Each of these facilities serves as an educational center and learning lab for the Horticulture and Golf and Sports Turf academic programs.???

Primary duties of this position will be focused on teaching a variety of courses with specific emphasis in horticulture and turf management.? Viable candidates should be prepared to teach courses at theoretical, technical and practical levels as they relate to horticulture and turf management including, but not limited to, turf science soils, weeds and weed control, plant pathology, entomology, horticultural chemicals, and water and irrigation management.?Experience with grounds and heavy equipment operation and maintenance, facility management, and agronomy would also be of benefit.?

In addition to classroom and laboratory instruction, this faculty member will also serve as an academic advisor to program students, participate on campus committees, provide advisement to program clubs/ organizations, and engage in programmatic academic assessment.?The successful applicant will develop and maintain advisory relationships in promotion of the Horticulture and Golf and Sports Turf degrees.? Attendance at some state and national conferences is expected.
Although not required, there is an opportunity for the selected candidate to conduct applied research as it relates to horticulture, agriculture, turf management and sports surfaces.?The college has a dedicated Turf Center, an 18-hole golf course, and three greenhouse facilities where applied research activities may be accommodated.

Qualifications
  • Master's?degree in a field closely related to the Horticulture and Golf and Sport Turf management programs (agronomy, horticulture, plant science, agricultural engineering, or other closely related field)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; and computer skills
  • Demonstrated understanding the value of civic engagement
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record by time of appointment
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least three years of professional experience in a related field is preferred
  • At least two years of professional teaching experience teaching college level courses (with demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations)
  • Ability to engage in scholarly activities

Additional Information:
  • Assistant Professor, Salary $50,000 - $52,000
  • This is a 10 month academic?year, tenure track position
